A look at 2019 from Concordia Forum alumni Edited by Zahed Amanullah. On so many levels 2019 will be a defining year and the rise of social media-driven analysis, fake news, the increasingly adversarial nature of online political debate and state propaganda has made it increasingly difficult to separate facts from fiction. Here at the Concordia Forum,we've been dedicated to promoting the interests of Western Muslims since our establishment 10 years ago. Looking beyond playing to the gallery with immediate emotional, partisan, ideological knee-jerk responses,we have been trying to explore long-term,strategic,and sustainable frameworks that lend themselves to building a society based on mutual respect, progress and fighting injustice. In the face of such challenges, what is our role as some of Western world's most influential and engaged Muslim leaders? To help answer this question,we've pulled together some leading thinkers from our network to ponder on some of the challenges facing us in the year.
