Waqf is an Arabic term for the endowment. Throughout Islamic history, Waqf donations have been used to develop and support communities. Muslims can give Waqf donations towards charitable, religious, or educational causes. Therefore, these donations are typically given as sadaqah jariyah (ongoing charity). We often hear many charitable organizations talk about the spiritual benefits of giving to sadaqah jariyah projects.
